The Hummingbird has landed. Here are a few picks from today. The folks in the photos are KLVB members and some of the great ladies who are doing the glass work for KLVB as an in kind donation. And to help out load, unload and bolt the hummingbird is Jason Sellers from #Sellersplace. We hope to have the last two additions set by the end of Sept. Reminder go to keeplagovistabeautiful.com to check out more about our great group of volunteers.
If you get scratched and your arms bleed and bruise when you do gardening. I suggest getting you a pair of these arm protectors.
Here is the Horseshoe Bed located at Bowden Point. This is a bed that KLVB has been working on this summer to get new plants in it. These are all volunteer plants from our yards. Give them until next year and they will be filling up this bed big time.
Check out this great video of our volunteers keeping Lago Vista beautiful! This is a lesson on how to trim Salvia back. Just within two weeks the Salvia in the top bed are already filing in nicely. The lower plants got a little harder trim back so they are taking a little longer but keep watching they will we blooming before you know it. This is Veterans Park on Dawn and Thunderbird.

So today I was up working at Bowden Point and found these hard working ladies who clean homes and office buildings taking their lunch break at the picnic table that KLVB purchased with a grant we were awarded from the Lago Vista Women’s Club. They told me they call Bowden Point “Park of Love”. They said they are so happy we provided such a nice addition for them to use. This is just one think KLVB does for keep Lago Beautiful and providing places for our community to enjoy.
Our dedicated volunteer Clare Grabarkewitz has created an Amazon wish list for much-needed Christmas supplies and a few other things. Due to new LED requirements, many of our traditional displays and lights can no longer be used. Your help in refreshing our holiday decorations would mean so much to the community! Want to make the season bright? Every purchase, big or small, helps keep our community beautiful during the holidays. Thank you for your continued support!

Are you tired of deer munching on your newly planted garden? Whether it's delicate shoots or fresh growth, these unwelcome visitors can wreak havoc on your carefully tended plants. But fear not, there's a simple and effective solution: homemade deer repellent.
We recommend spraying the following homemade deer repellent for at least 3 weeks on newly planted items every three days. If it rains or if you water, you must spray again. Also, in the spring, spray new growth to keep deer from eating the delicate new growth.
Ingredients:
Instructions:
The pungent odor of garlic and eggs combined with the soapy water creates a repellent scent that deer find unappealing. While harmless to plants and humans, it effectively deters deer from grazing on your garden.
By following these simple steps, you can protect your garden from deer damage and enjoy a flourishing landscape all season long. Say goodbye to unwanted nibbling and hello to a thriving garden!
